About Us

Initial Reaction began as a home business in 2000 when Joy Colwell started offering
custom monogramming services to family and friends. What began as a small endeavor
quickly grew, and by 2010, the business had outgrown our home. We opened our first shop
in downtown Perry, and it was during this time that we expanded our offerings to include
gifts for every occasion. As the demand for both our monogramming and gift selections
grew, we expanded twice within our original location.

In 2020, we made another significant move to our current location down the street,
allowing us to continue growing and providing even more personalized gifts and products
to our loyal customers. In 2023, Karlie, Joy’s daughter, joined the business full-time,
bringing fresh energy and new ideas to help further grow Initial Reaction.

Today, we proudly offer a wide range of custom monogramming services and unique gifts.
